The top 3 Online Problems of International Shoppers
Hi Shoppers! As you can tell by the topic above , today i will be sharing the Top 3 Online problems we face as International Shoppers. While Shopping Online can be therapeutic , time saving and an ends to a mean , let us discuss the “dark” side of this worldwide phenomenon! Follow the jump to see some of the challenges we face.
This post was based on real life experiences from real life International Shoppers based on a quick survey I conducted on Facebook for all of you 🙂 If you see some of your frustrations please chime in by saying “yes “ or “ hmm mmm” (common Jamaican Frustration sounds) .
Store does not ship to Jamaica: Imagine you just discovered an Online store that has “thebomb.com” trends that suits your budget and more , there is a drop down menu of all the countries they ship to , you scroll down to “J” and you only see “Japan” . Depending on where the store is based , Jamaica is most certainly not considered an “International” country , why are we not on that list?
Shipping takes too long: Let’s not get into the “Sammy Dress” or “David Deal” issue , still waiting . This is mainly for people who shop on Ebay. Usually when you purchase an item , you will see “estimated shipping time/date” and an actual day. You get all excited that you will get your item at that time , then a month goes by and nothing . You have to go over the entire process , contact the seller and wait for them to resolve an issue that suits them! Ebay also has this “mystery” policy where they penalize you if there are too many “seller” issues . It’s not your fault that you did not receive the item when it was estimated to come to you.
The Wrong Item is sent: This is another popular mishap from Ebay. I purchased a lovely necklace with gold features because i also purchased a red dress that i thought would “pop” with a necklace with gold in it. When my necklace arrived it had Silver! I was told the necklace was out of stock and they had not updated the system so the Silver was sent . They were however kind enough to offer me a partial refund. Getting a partial refund helped to calm down my frustration , but the actual necklace that was shown in the picture would have been nice.
Shopping Online is a great fun experience , however when things go awry it can easily turn into frustrations.
