How to Pre-alert Orders With MailPac
Mailpac is the largest U.S. mailbox provider in Jamaica. They are constantly promoting and asking members to pre-alert orders so they process them faster and more accurately.
The benefits are that pre-alerted orders help them to get more information about the shipment and allow them to disclose the contents of the package more accurately. This helps Jamaica Customs to apply the correct duties to the items.
Many of us have seen toys being classified as spare parts. This is not a problem with the mailbox provider but more about the customers office just not sure how to class the item. Throw in a package that has multiple items in it and you can see why it can get tricky for customs to get it right.
So how exactly do you pre-alert an order? Let’s see…
